Bass Guitar lessons are closely related to guitar lessons.  As in all of our studies, the bass lessons and programs are customized to the student's individual needs, goals and previous experience.

What will you Cover?

Familiarity with the bass clef and developing good music reading skills through good understanding, practice and exercises left and right-hand bass technique exercises as applied to a variety of musical styles. The study of rhythm - reading rhythms, and the variety of different rhythmical styles.Application of the knowledge of chords and scales so you can play with others.

TWO Exciting Ways To Take Guitar Lessons- The Traditional Track and The Performance Track

What You WANT to Know

The first part of bass lessons is providing students with what they want to know. This is obviously decided by the student and allows the student to determine what they would like to learn for a portion of their lesson. Some of the options that students usually choose to learn include songs from their favorite artists, the main riff or lick from a song their currently listening to, a style of music that interests them, a certain bass technique, or an aspect of music theory that intrigues them. Most students choose to learn songs.

What You NEED To Know

The second part of bass lessons is providing students with what they need. We believe all students should know certain elements of music to become skilled, knowledgeable and, ultimately, creative musicians. These elements would include basic chords, common bass techniques, chord progressions, scales in the most commonly used major and minor keys and a practical hands-on theoretical understanding of how these chords and scales function together so as to help the student play the music they enjoy listening to and to create their own music.

Understand Music

  • Create Your Own Music

  • Play By Ear

  • Play Bass Guitar (In the Right Key, With the Right Scales)

Although there are many other elements we believe to be important and are included in our bass lessons, the above-mentioned knowledge and skills are the ones that we feel are indispensable for every student. Talking with one of our enrollment counselors will allow us to discuss your specific goals.  We can also explain the differences between the two tracks in more detail.  Both tracks will cover all the essentials mentioned above, but approach the material in a different manner.
